Frequently asked questions

What does a Midwife Cost?

At Heartbeat Midwifery, our goal is not to enrich ourselves but to enrich our community by making midwifery care accessible. As such, we are the top rated and most competitively priced Birth Center in West Texas. Payment plans are flexible and based on each individuals needs. During your initial consultation, which is free, we will discuss a payment plan which fits your needs and the details of your particular insurance. We offer discounts to active Military Families and those needing financial assistance as much as we are able. We would love to discount everyone, but we are only able to provide a set number of discounts each month on a first come first serve basis.

Do you Accept Insurance?

Heartbeat Midwifery is the only Birth Center in Lubbock to include Insurance Billing with a Specialist in our standard package price. We are able to accept many insurance carriers as an out-of-network provider. Our Insurance Billing Specialist is available to walk you through your insurance policy and obtain a verification of benefits. You can enroll with her here.

Are you able to provide Early Gender Tests?

Yes! We are set up through Peekaboo to provide gender reveal test results within a few days. All you need to do is call for an appointment at the Birth Center.

Do you provide options for pain relief during labor?

Though we do not provide many of the pain relieving medications or an epidural, we do have a few options for pain management during labor. First off, you will not be resticted to laboring on your back in stirrups! You are will be encouraged and helped to move into positions which alleviate pain and help to birth your baby. Additionally, during prenatals you will be able to prepare your body through spinning babies. Nitrous oxide, which has been widely used in Europe and is becoming more poplulare in the USA is also an option for pain managment. Click here to read more. Water birth is often described as natures epidural and is provided for in large tubs in both births rooms or as a blow up pool for home birth. Click here to read more.
